I started my career doing real estate, business, and construction law. A few years back, I decided a change of pace was in order and began practicing criminal defense law. I enjoy the fast pace of criminal defense and providing solutions to my clients. Since entering the criminal defense arena, I have been voted a Rising Star in Criminal Defense Law by Washington Super Lawyers in 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, and once again in 2017.

Today I focus primarily on criminal defense and also perform some real estate and contract matters. I assist people facing misdemeanors, felonies, and traffic infractions. A majority of my practice involves DUI Defense, Domestic Violence Defense, and Felony Defense. I am an active member of the Washington State Bar Association, the Tacoma Pierce County Bar Association, and Washington Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers.

A long time local to Tacoma, I graduated from Wilson High School. From there, I went on to the University of Washington and later to Gonzaga University School of Law. I enjoy rooting for both the Huskies and the Zags, but it can be bit tough come basketball season in the chance they play each other. I live in Gig Harbor with my wife, Lisa, who is an attorney for the Department of the Navy, at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard… and our two sons, Emmett and Leo. We love living in the Puget Sound area. One of our favorite things to do is get up early and go looking for monkeyshines on the Chinese New Year.
